    The Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum Foundation will be hosting a kick-off event for a new fundraiser on Saturday, November 4 at 11:00 a.m. on the grounds of the museum. The kick off event will launch a new campaign to fund restoration of the historic Missouri-Pacific caboose that was damaged by fire in 2015. Attendees can help the project by buying a personalized brick to be installed at the caboose site. Bricks with personalized messages are available for purchase for $50 or $100, depending on the size.     Looking for something to do with the kids over Spring Break? Make tracks to the Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum this March for the 4th Annual Spring Break Model Train Display. Stop by the Grand Lobby of the Santa Fe Depot from March 13th-17th, as members of the Central Texas Area Model Railroaders (CentraMod) will be running multiple train layouts and be on hand to talk about their hobby and the work they have done to complete these model train layouts. Visitors can enjoy the trains during the regular museum hours, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. There is no fee to view the model train exhibit. Regular admission charges apply to view the rest of the museum.

    On Tuesday, September 11th, at 2:00 p.m., Tim Baldwin, editor of RollerCoaster! Magazine, will discuss the history of Coney Island and the rollercoasters that made it famous. Mr. Baldwin is also Communications Director of American Coaster Enthusiasts. His passion for amusement parks and rollercoasters has taken him around the globe to experience the greatest rides the world has to offer. He has ridden more than a thousand roller coasters and still considers the Coney Island Cyclone the benchmark to which all other wooden coasters should be measured.
