Missouri-Pacific Caboose Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
May 29 @ 5:00 pm| Free
Join us for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the restoration of the Missouri-Pacific Caboose at the Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum. We will snip the ribbon on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 5:00 pm.
The Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum partnered with the Temple chapter of the NAACP to breathe life back into this rare Missouri-Pacific caboose. Built in 1951, and donated to the museum in 1986, it was intentionally set on fire in Jan. 2015. Through fundraisers, like the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum Foundation’s Buy a Brick program, and major gifts from McLane, BNSF, and Channel 6, this caboose will now host a reading and party room. It’s ADA accessible and the addition of the deck provides extra exterior space to use for a variety of functions.
